2013 Rosé and 2012 Cab Franc Spring Release
Spring Fever Cured by Northwest Totem Cellars Wine

* Wine Club Spring Release Saturday May 10th, 12-4, for Wine Club Members
(Spring fare served Saturday for Wine Club Release)

* Open to the Public Sunday May 11th, 12-4

We have all read the reports on anti oxidants and red wine. Finally, a definitive study has come from the kitchen at Northwest Totem Cellars that proved beyond a doubt that Northwest Totem Cellars wine consumed periodically promotes the release of the necessary endorphins used to combat winter blahs, rain depression, grey grumpiness and a host of other chronic Northwest maladies (“still no cure for the summertime blues” can always be cured by a glass of Salish). In the interest of public well being and overall cheer, Northwest Totem Cellars will be hosting its Spring Fever Wine Club Release on Saturday, May 10th with Sunday, May 11th open for the public.

Spring release starts with a 2013 Rosé. What could be more appropriate than a pink wine in May? Slightly sweet with great fruit, this will be a simple and fun deck sipper this summer. As with most of our rosé, only 10 cases were produced and will be available this weekend only.

Our second release for spring is the 2010 Cab Franc. As always, this is my favorite grape and and 2010 did not leave me disappointed. With typical flavor profiles of pepper and earth, this vintage will be one you will want to drink now and have some for the cellar. To celebrate, we are offering a promotion to the wine club only matching all purchases of three 2010 cab francs with a 2009 Cab Franc as our salute to spring. This promotion is above and beyond normal Wine Club discounts.

Lastly, to tease you mercilessly, we will be hosting a premier of our new Cabernet Sauvignon as a barrel sample. Last vintage, our Cabernet Sauvignon was produced in the Elerding Vineyard. It won last year’s Double Gold at the Seattle Wine Awards as well as recently taking honors for Gold in the Great Northwest Wine Competition. Bad news…. in 2011 we did not get the same fruit. Good news… we bought what many consider, some of the the best cabernet available in the state. Bad news…. it cost over twice as much. Good news…. It is a m a z i n g! Bad news…. we will have to up our pricing on our Cabernet Sauvignon. Good News…. not on the barrel sample futures you will taste this coming weekend! We will be offering futures only to our wine club for the Cabernet Sauvignon at $39 with normal wine club discounts available. Our new price for our next Cabernet Sauvignon will be $47 in our winter release. There was only one barrel of this wine made and we are sure you will understand what I mean by how wonderful this wine is going to be.

As always, the release will be from 12-4 with goodies from the kitchen. Please let us know if you wish to bring guests. Guests may purchase all wines as well except the futures which are offered to wine club only. If you cannot make Saturday but plan on coming Sunday, please let us know as I will have just enough wine out of the barrel to fulfill wine club members and not the general public.

See you in May.
